Simone’s deep love for horses shaped her diverse early career choices, reflecting her passion and dedication. However, it was her personal journey through addiction that sparked a profound interest in psychology and spirituality, ultimately inspiring her to train as a counsellor. This pivotal experience became the foundation for her writing career, where she thrives in exploring the core motivations behind human thought and behaviour—and how the divine connects with us in the midst of it all.

Remember Providence is a personal and spiritual memoir that explores themes of obsession, faith, and redemption. It recounts Simone’s journey, beginning in her teenage years with a life-altering experience on a marae (a communal and sacred place in Māori culture). This pivotal moment sets off a struggle with deep personal obsessions and unhealthy attachments that persist through significant life events, including marriage and involvement in church.
The story takes a transformative turn when her fixation on a kind-hearted pastor exposes a larger divine plan at work in her life. The narrative emphasises Simone’s resilience in confronting her struggles and highlights the redemptive power of faith and God’s providence. It offers a compelling account of personal growth and the transformative impact of spiritual surrender and trust in a higher purpose.
